About Body Control Pilates
I first discovered the Body Control Pilates Method fifteen years ago when I was working full-time in London and have never looked back.
The Pilates Method of exercise has its origins in the work of the late Joseph Pilates who was born in 1880 in Germany. It offers a comprehensive programme of exercises adapted from the original ‘classical’ exercises developed by Joseph Pilates.
Pilates brings together mind and body and increases your body awareness which can help you deal with stress more effectively and relax more easily. Each exercise is built around eight basic principles: relaxation; coordination; alignment, stamina, concentration; centring; breathing and flowing movements.
Regular practice leads to improved posture and alignment, strengthens your core muscles and improves your range of movement and joint flexibility. It is a useful addition to your exercise programme and many professional athletes use Pilates as part of their training to prevent injury.
The Body Control Pilates Method can work for everyone, regardless of their level of fitness.
About the class
Every Tuesday from12:30pm-1:15pm
The class last 45 minutes so that you can fit it into your day. I give different levels of challenge for each exercise depending on your experience.
If you are completely new to Pilates, I recommend an introductory one-to-one session before you join the class.
Prices: Classes can be booked in blocks of 5 at £6.00 per session payable in advance. Drop in price is £8.00.
